Hi guys,
As of June 28th 2011 the new Microsoft Office 365 is live and can be bougt.
Office 365 is Microsofts cloudplatform for e-mail, collaberation and communication. Office 365 is the improved version of BPOS (Business Productivity Online Suite). You are paying for Office 365 as a cloud service/product. You only pay for what you use. Microsoft takes care of the rest, servers, upgrades, maintance and licenses. The 3 main components of Office 365 are:
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Lync Online
Further more there is the possibility for using the Office Web Apps service or the priviledge for using Office (2010) Professional Plus.
In the contrary of what the name my suggest, it’s about the back-end. Primarely you are using the server enviroment of Microsoft. Now Exchange Online and SharePoint online are usable with your default browser, but for the most functionality you’ll still be using the Office suite on your local computer. The new part of this suite is that you pay for the complete Office suite local whith your Office 365 subscription.
Well so far for now.
Until next time.
Greetz,
Jack
