Book review “Windows Server 2012 Automation with PowerShell CookBook”

9465EN_0_PowerShell_Packt_EbookPackt publishing contacted me recently to review a new book they published on automating Windows Server 2012 through PowerShell.

Ed Goad has written this book and in the first chapter he goes rather quickly through the PowerShell commands. If you don’t have any PowerShell knowledge I suggest you first learn to understand it first. Ed explains the basics well, but for a novice on PowerShell it’s to little.

Ed Goad goes into great detail in how you can automate Windows 2012. From installing and managing IIS to setting up Hyper-V and backing up your 2012 server. Ed explains it all.

I love the great detail in which he explains all features iwith the help of screenshots and example scripts you can use right away.

If you don’t have this book yet, I would recommend it to add this to your bookshelf and read it. Only downside I can see is that you need to have some knowledge of PowerShell. Otherwise you will have some difficulty getting through it. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll get through it and you can do all the steps and tasks after reading it but it will take you a little more time.

Hope you find this review usefull.

Until the next book review or blogpost wlEmoticon-winkingsmile.png.
