Book review Citrix XenDesktop 7 cookbook

7463EN_Citrix Cover.jpgPackt publishing contacted me recently to review a new book they published on Citrix XenDesktop 7.

Gaspare A. Silvestri has written this book and does explain all the various settings and features of XenDesktop 7. Even if you aren’t experienced with this product he will guide you through this one and keep you interested in knowing more about this product.

As you all know I’m a great fan of using screenshot to enhance the readability of a document/post or book. Gaspare does this also in this book and it makes it easier to read and even helps you in where you can find certain settings.

If you don’t have this book yet, I would recommend it to add this to your bookshelf and read it.

Hope you find this review usefull.

Until the next book review or blogpost wlEmoticon-winkingsmile.png.

NetScaler Insight Center 2.0

Citrix has released version 2 of the NetScaler Insight Center on May 21st 2013.

NetScaler® Insight Center is a high performance collector which provides end-to-end user experience visibility.

With this release we extend the Insight visibility offering from Web traffic (Web Insight) to HDX traffic(HDX Insight) analytics.

It will now collect ICA AppFlow records generated by NetScaler ADC appliances and populate analytical graphs over Layer 3 to Layer 7 statistics. The HDX Insight will provide in-depth analysis over real time and historical data across last 5min (real time) and last one hour, one day, one week, one month as historic data.

HDX Insight will give a bird’s eye view over all the HDX Users, Applications, Desktops and will even provide a view from Gateway level information. It will also showcase the SSL VPN license usage over the time. Based on the use cases the administrator can drill down and identify the pain points from any of these dashboards giving them a perfect visibility and troubleshooting solution. Error HP driver not found on 2008 printserver

Ever noticed that on a 2008 print server you install a HP LaserJet 4xxx driver on it but when you open the properties page of the printer you still get the error that the driver wasn’t installed and if you want to install it? I’ve run into it while working on a Citrix Universal Print Server issue and a colleague pointed this out to me (thanks to Kristof Peeters).
