As with all Citrix products the Receiver versions have an end f life date. Each major version (e.g., v3.0) of a Citrix Receiver for Windows, Mac, Linux, Java, or WinCE, there is a minimum lifecycle of four years.

In late September, Microsoft announced a change to their lifecycle support for the Windows Server 2008 operating system. This change added 18 months to the Windows Server 2008 mainstream support, moving its end of mainstream support date from Jul 9, 2013 to Jan 13, 2015. You can find more information about this lifecycle milestone change from the Microsoft lifecycle page.
As a result of this change to the Windows Server 2008, Citrix has also adjusted the end of life for XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 by 18 months, to Jan 13, 2015. This change was made to XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 because we understand many customers fully leverage the Microsoft platform during Microsoft’s Mainstream Support period.

Microsoft is announcing changes to the roadmaps of some of the security solutions made available under the Forefront brand.
- As part of this effort, the next release of Forefront Online Protection for Exchange, which has long been part of the Office 365 solution, will be named Exchange Online Protection.
- In response to customer demand, we are adding basic antimalware protection to Exchange Server 2013. This protection can be easily turned off, replaced, or paired with other services (like Exchange Online Protection) to provide a layered defense.

Citrix XenApp 6.0, independent of XenApp 6.5, will be given a minimum 4.5 year lifecycle to enable customers to leverage investment they have already made on XenApp 6.
