Important Notes

  • Caution: Several items in this hotfix rollup pack require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
  • Skype might not recognize the camera, in which case the video portion of the Skype call is missing. To avoid this, make sure the camera is connected before launching Skype. If necessary, sign out of Skype and then sign back into Skype. In some cases, it might be necessary to disconnect and reconnect the camera before signing back into Skype.

Known Installation/Uninstallation Issues

  • For information about the order of deployment to servers in a farm and other helpful best practices guidelines, see Knowledge Center articleCTX120842 (Best Practices for Citrix XenApp Hotfix Rollup Pack Installation and Deployment).
  • Installing this hotfix rollup pack partially invalidates several hotfixes. This happens because not all fixes in these hotfixes are included in the hotfix rollup pack. Obtain or request the corresponding replacement hotfixes for any invalidated fixes you require. List of invalidated hotfixes
  • On some Citrix XenApp servers, silent installation of hotfix rollup packs can fail and installation with UI can display the following error message: “Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000002).” If you are affected by this issue, see Knowledge Center articleCTX133014 for more information.
  • If you intend to use the Universal Print Server feature, Citrix recommends that you install the Universal Print Server Client before installing this hotfix rollup pack. Otherwise – if you install the Universal Print Server Client after this hotfix rollup pack – a Windows Security dialog appears while you install the Universal Print Server Client.  If this happens, click “Install this driver software anyway” to finish the installation.
  • While uninstalling this hotfix rollup pack from servers with the Universal Print Server Client installed, you may be prompted for the XenApp 6.5 base installer file (mps.msi), available on the XenApp 6.5 original source media. Also, after uninstalling this hotfix rollup pack, you must uninstall and then reinstall the Universal Print Server Client in order for the client to function properly.

New Fixes and Enhancements in This Hotfix Rollup Pack

Application Streaming

  1. When launching an application that is streamed to server and no ICA session exists, the IMA Service creates an extraneous two RAD*.tmp temporary files (for a total of three) at C:ProgramData. One of the files is passed to RadeRun and subsequently deleted by RadeRun. The other two files remain and accumulate over time. Only the one requisite file is created when launching a streamed to server application into an existing ICA session.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_app_streaming>[#LA0991]

End User Experience Monitoring

  1. The End User Experience Monitoring (EUEM) process notification thread might exit unexpectedly due to an “Access Denied” error (observable using CDFControl/CDFTrace). As a result, “Published Application Launch” events are not collected.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_euem>[#LA1619]
  2. As part of end-user experience monitoring, login script duration values are reported under Profile Load Server Duration rather than underLogin Script Execution Server Duration.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_euem>[#LA1099]
  3. The End User Experience Monitoring (EUEM) service intermittently fails to record published application launch data, causing the reports that display such data not generate properly.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_euem>[#LA3127]

HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection

  1. The Event log might not be generated for the HDX MediaStream Windows Media Redirection feature.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_hdx_mediastream_wmr>[#LA3983]

HDX RealTime

  1. After installing Hotfix Rollup Pack 1, HDX RealTime Webcam Video Compression might fail to work with certain applications. The following error message appears while attempting to capture a picture or video:”Failed to acquire image from the device.”[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_hdx_realtime>[#LA2637]

IMA Service

  1. The IMA Service might exit unexpectedly on provisioned XenApp servers.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_ima_service>[#LA2093]

Installing, Uninstalling, Upgrading

  1. On systems with Fix #LA1349 installed, the CITRIX-XML-SERVICE NetScaler built-in-monitor might incorrectly report that the server is not available for load balancing.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_installing_uninstalling_upgrading>[#LA3446]

Keyboard

  1. This fix address the following issues:
    • When using the Receiver for Mac, hiding and restoring the mouse pointer repeatedly in a MicrosoftLive meeting inside the virtual desktop session, the endpoint might become unresponsive.
    • When using Receiver for Windows, hiding and restoring the mouse pointer repeatedly in a GoToMeeting meeting inside the virtual desktop session, the endpoint might become unresponsive.

When this happens, users might receive an error message when attempting to connect and be denied connection.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_licensing>[#LA2622]

Local App Access

  1. When connected to a published desktop with Local App Access enabled, attempts to launch a published application using an instance of Receiver for Windows that is installed on the published desktop fail.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_local_app_access>[#LA3729]

Logon/Authentication

  1. Attempts to reconnect to a disconnected session fail for users in farms that span multiple forests using one-way trust. The issue occurs for users who log on to the Web Interface using their FQDN as follows:User name: username
    Password: password
    Domain: domainname.local- or –

    User name: domainname.localusername
    Password: password

Printing

  1. When using the Universal Printer driver, configuring the print quality setting (Printer > Preferences > Layout > Advanced) to Draft (150 dpi) can result in incorrect formatting.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_printing>[#LA0486]
  2. In a multi-hop scenario, the Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) process might exit unexpectedly if the name of the printer exceeds 256 characters.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_printing>[#LA2354]
  3. The Citrix Print Manager Service (CpSvc.exe) process can utilize up to 100% of the CPU.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_printing>[#LA2555]
  4. When using the XPS Universal printer driver to print in Internet Explorer 8 with protected mode enabled, the multiple pages per sheet setting might not be honored for users other than administrators.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_printing>[#LA0907]
  5. The Local Printer Settings button in the Printer Properties dialog box of the Universal Print Server (UPS) is enabled instead of disabled.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_printing>[#LA2240]

    [From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_server_farm_administration>[#LA2377]

  4. This enhancement to the dscheck.exe utility adds support for the following commands for identifying Common Application entries that have invalid icons and deleting the entries from the datastore. A common application entry is considered to have an invalid icon if the entry has a non-zero UID that is not present in the “Icons” context of the datastore:
    • dscheck /Full Apps /?
dscheck displays usage help text including help text for the new /IconCheck option.
    • dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck
dscheck scans all Common Application entries in the data store and prints error messages for any entries that have invalid icons.
    • dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck <AppName>
dscheck scans the Common Application entry matching the specified “friendly” application name and prints error messages if the entry has an invalid icon.
    • dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck /Clean
Same as dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck except that dscheck deletes all Common Application entries that have invalid icons.
    • dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck /Clean <AppName>
Same as dscheck /Full Apps /IconCheck /Clean <AppName> except that dscheck deletes the matching Common Application entry if it has an invalid icon.

  7. The usage of certain custom icons for published applications can stop application enumeration and the following error message appears when attempting to log on to Web Interface: “The system could not log you on. Ensure that you entered your details correctly and try again. If you are still unable to log on, contact your system administrator as your credentials may be invalid or there may be a problem with the authentication system.”To address this issue in its entirety, you must install both a XenApp hotfix and a XenApp Management Experience hotfix that contains Fix #LA3476.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_server_farm_administration>[#LA3476]

  10. A server can display a session load of 1 even though no session is logged on to the server. The issue occurs because the code to update the session table is not taking into account that a console session can be connected without being active. With this fix, a console session is not reported as active unless it is logged on.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_server_farm_administration>[#LA4075]
  11. When a “Degrade resolution first” policy setting forces a lesser resolution for a session than what the application is published for, the properties for the session as shown in AppCenter might not reflect the lesser session resolution forced by the policy; instead, the properties display the resolution configured for the published application. The issue occurs with sessions running on servers where Fix #LA2269 is installed.[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_server_farm_administration>[#LA4111]

  2. Improperly terminated smart card transactions can leave orphaned sessions running on the server and cause new sessions to become unresponsive during logon. Several processes (winlogon.exe, csrss.exe, and logonui.exe) keep running in the orphaned sessions. To enable the fix, you must set the following registry keys:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixSmartCard
    Name: TransactionTimeoutEnable
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 1 (enable)

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixSmartCard
    Name: TransactionTimeoutValue
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: <any value more than 5 seconds>

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixSmartCard
    Name: SendRecvTimeout
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: Minimum timeout value, in seconds; should be 30 seconds or more. Any lesser value defaults to 30 seconds. This value must be at least 10 seconds less than “TransactionTimeoutValue”.

  3. When using smart card authentication, sites in the Intranet zone do not prompt for credentials and fail to load if protected mode is enabled for the Intranet zone. To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixSmartCard
    Name: SupLowIntegrityProc
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1[From XA650W2K8R2X64R02]<cat_smart_cards>[#LA2130]

SmoothRoaming

  1. Even with Workspace Control/SmoothRoaming enabled, users are sometimes presented with a locked desktop when trying to reconnect to a session. The issue occurs when making several reconnection attempts in rapid succession, specifically when trying to reconnect multiple times within the same 20 seconds. This behavior is as designed as the minimum wait time before a session can be disconnected is hard-coded at 20 seconds. Thus, making an additional reconnection attempt within 20 seconds of the previous attempt causes users to be presented with a locked desktop. This fix introduces support for the following registry key that allows you to configure the minimum wait time before a session can be disconnected:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareWow6432NodeCitrixWFShell
    Name: SessionReconnectMinTimeInMilliSeconds
    Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 20000 (default)For related information, see Knowledge Center article CTX138189.
