Lifecycle milestone update to XenApp 5 for server 2008

In late September, Microsoft announced a change to their lifecycle support for the Windows Server 2008 operating system. This change added 18 months to the Windows Server 2008 mainstream support, moving its end of mainstream support date from Jul 9, 2013 to Jan 13, 2015. As a result of this change to the Windows Server 2008, Citrix has also adjusted the end of life for XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 by 18 months, to Jan 13, 2015. This change was made to XenApp 5 for Windows Server 2008 because we understand many customers fully leverage the Microsoft platform during Microsoft’s Mainstream Support period.

HDX MediaStream hotfix for XenApp 4.5, 5.0 and 6.0

Citrix has released a new hotfix for HDX Mediastream for XenApp versions 4.5, 5.0 and 6.0 running a 64 bit OS.

Prereqs for installing this patch are:

  • XenApp 6 or,
  • XenApp 5 with Feature Pack 3 for Windows Server 2008, including HDX User Experience Enhancement or,
  • XenApp 5 with Feature Pack 2 for Windows Server 2003, including the HDX MediaStream for Flash feature or,
  • Presentation Server 4.5 with Feature Pack 2, including the HDX MediaStream for Flash feature

This hotfix replaces the following hotfixes:
