Who Should Install This Driver Disk?

Customers running Citrix XenServer 6.0.2 with CTX133812 – Hotfix XS602E005 – For XenServer 6.0.2 who use Emulex OneCommand to manage their Emulex Fibre Channel (FC) Host Bus Adapters (HBA), Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) Converged Network Adapters (CNA), and Ethernet Network Adapters and wish to upgrade to the latest support version of the this driver.

Issues Resolved In This Driver Disk

Hotfix XS602E005 updated the XenServer 6.0.2 Dom0 kernel version to 2.6.32.12-0.7.1.xs6.0.2.552.170672.

This driver is re-issued for compatibility with this new kernel version. The functionality of this driver has not been modified since its first release with XenServer 6.0.2. Refer to CTX132611 – Driver Disk for Emulex Be2net 4.0.359.0 and Lpfc 8.3.5.44.4p – For XenServer 6.0.2 for details.

FAQ Re-release XenServer 6.0.2

Q: How can I check if my system is up to date and the two required hotfixes are installed?
A: In XenCenter, select a Pool, and then click the General tab. If the hotfixes are installed – they will be listed in the Updates section as shown below:

Q: XenCenter shows that the hotfixes are not installed, what should I do to bring my system up to date?

Installing Citrix XenServer 6.0.2 hotfixes

When you have XenServer 6.0.2 installed before they pulled it from the download site (like me) you can choose to either re-install the new version (6.0.2.1) or to download the 2 hotfixes Citrix has released. I choose the latter and I‘ll show you how you can install and upload the hotfixes to your XenServer.

First of all download the 2 hotfixes (XS602E001 and XS602E002) from the Citrix download page. Save the 2 files to a location of your choice.

For the best results and the least problems it’s best to update the XenServer 1 update at a time. So select 1 update per run.

Open XenCenter and go to “Tools’ and “Install software update”.

  • Emergency Network Reset: Network Reset provides a simple mechanism to recover and reset a host’s networking configuration to its original state at fresh installation. This is also useful when you simply want to configure networking on a host from scratch, and helps to recover a host from an incorrectly configured state. Refer to CTX131972for detailed information.
  • Enhanced Guest OS Support. Support for CentOS 5.7 (32/64-bit), CentOS 6.0 (32/64-bit), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7 (32/64-bit), Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.7 (32/64-bit).
